摘要
液压压力机是一种用静压力来加工金属，塑料，橡胶，粉末制品的机械，在许多工业部门得到了广泛应用。压力机的类型很多，其中四柱式液压压力机最为典型，应用也最为广泛。这种液压压力机在它的四个主柱之间安置着上，下两个液压缸，液压压力机对其液压系统的基本要求是：
为完成一般的压制工艺，要求主缸（上液压缸）驱动上滑块能实现“快速下行→慢速加压→保压延时→快速返回→原位停止”的工作循环；要求顶缸出缸（下液压缸）驱动下滑块实现“向上顶出→停留→原位停止”的动作循环。
液压系统中的压力要能经常变换和调节，并能产生较大的压制力（吨位），以满足工作平稳性和安全可靠性要高。
流量大、功率大、空行程和加压程行程的速度差异大。因此要求功率利用合理，工作平稳性和安全可靠性要高。
液压机的主缸是液压机液压系统的主要动作执行部件，它的结构、材料、及尺寸的大小的选择直接影响到液压机的工作性能。因此在液压机上，液压缸的选择是至关重要的。而液压机主缸的设计计算是在已知液压机压力，液压机工作行程，工作台尺寸，活动横梁的运动速度等条件下进行的。
